Job Description
We are on a truly exciting journey of converting our business using sustainable plastic materials in IKEA which base cost is one of the key focus areas for our plastic strategy. This is based on recycled and renewable materials to an affordable cost. Are you the one that can help us implement, and sustainable plastic materials for our product range of Electrical and Electronics products?

Today IKEA have several Development Engineers and Specialists that work with developing customer and environmental friendly solutions for IKEAs home furnishing products. In order to develop next generation of products based on sustainable plastic raw material, we need to strengthen our organisation with skilled and experienced Development Engineers.
Assignment
Your main assignment will be to work in close collaboration with IKEA of Sweden, local purchasing offices and suppliers in projects to propose and utilize materials for IKEA electrical and electronics products. Furthermore you will be working on explore, maintain and developing plastic raw material solutions for the industry of lighting, home electronics and appliances, mainly within the plastic category and raw material supplier base.
You will be driving and taking part in innovative development projects, performing material tests and securing the Quality level of the raw material in the responsibility area. You will also be responsible for creating and maintaining the technical documentation, and working with the standardization of the plastic material range especially for electrical and electronics product range.

We are looking for an Engineer with a University Degree in Chemicals/Polymers and a few years of relevant working experience within electrical and/or electronic industry. It is considered as an advantage if you have:
Experience in the injection moulding process and from the polymer industry.
Experience from the electrical and/or electronics industry in the field of plastic
Awareness or chemical knowledge of additives in plastic materials used in electrical and electronics applications
Able ability to support our development teams with expertise regards of technical knowledge of material properties valid for EE products such as thermal conductivity, flame retardants, transparency, heat deflection temperature, UV protection, electrical insulation etc.
Experience working with certifications
Our corporate language is English, so fluency both verbally and in writing is required.
